TrueSpace 3D for Free

Caligari's Truespace was a ground-breaking product when it was released for the Amiga back in the mid-80's. It offered real-time viewing/editing/shaping in a environment that was very intuitive. Many 3D packages had rudimentary graphical modeling at the time, but this was much better, in it's immediacy. It was really the only 3D modeling package I spend any significant amount of time on.

The company is still in business, having branched out into 3D online space (of course!). In fact, they were recently bought by Microsoft! The upside of this is that their most current version of their modeling software (for Windows only sadly) is free.
